Michigan State Law states that you, the customer, have the right to take your vehicle to the shop of your choice.
You also DO NOT have to get more than one repair estimate.
Many insurance companies will try to steer you to a shop that suits their needs, not yours.
Many of these insurance companies demand deep discounts on parts and labor along with
demands for cheap aftermarket parts. They also require shops to eliminate or omit
necessary repair procedures to further reduce repair costs.
Please note, not all insurance companies are bad. Oliver's Collision Centers maintain responsible
repair agreements with many major insurance companies that have your interests in mind.
However, we have also declined to be on many companies' "preferred lists" because of
their demands for substandard work. You may call us for a list of these companies.
BOTTOM LINE: You've paid your premiums. You can choose your repair shop.
Here are a couple of things that you may hear from an insurance company to try to steer you to
their "preferred" shop:
Myth - "There will not be any guarantee on the repair work".
Reality - Insurance companies don't guarantee repair work anyway, the repair shop does. So….the guarantee is only as good as the shop. Oliver's Collision Centers guarantee all of their workmanship for as long as you own your vehicle, PERIOD!!
Myth - "The repair process will be delayed because we can't inspect your vehicle for several days.
Reality - Oliver's Collision Centers start disassembly, parts ordering and repairs as soon as you give us authorization. With Oliver's your vehicle repairs can often be completed quicker than the insurance company's "preferred" shop.
